MANCHESTER – Wayne Rooney tengah cedera. Praktis, kabar buruk ini membuat cemas pelatih Timnas Inggris Fabio Capello.

Rooney meninggalkan lapangan dengan ditandu keluar, ketika membela Manchester United pada leg pertama babak perempatfinal Liga Champions melawan Bayern Munich di Allianz Arena, kemarin.

Hingga kini, manajemen Setan Merah belum memberikan keterangan secara resmi mengenai berapa lama Rooney bakal absen. Meski demikian, beberapa kalangan menilai bomber andalan United itu bakal absen sekira empat pekan.

Ini jelas membuat khawatir Capello. Mantan arsitek Real Madrid ini berharap bisa berbicara dengan Rooney dalam 24 jam mendatang untuk mengetahui kabar cedera yang dialami bomber 25 tahun itu.

“Saya akan berbicara denganya Kamis pagi nanti. Saya sama sekali tidak bahagia melihat kondisi ini. Tapi, saya juga tidak senang melihat pemain lain mengalami cedera,” sesal Capello.

“Masih terlalu cepat untuk berbicara mengenai seberapa parah cedera yang dialami Rooney ini. Kami masih menunggu hasil pemeriksaannya,” tandas pelatih kelahiran Italia ini dikutip Sportinglife, Kamis (1/4/2010).
